Collaboration is the mark of a true partnership. Nalco Water was recently recognized for this quality by WestRock, a leading provider of paper and packaging solutions in the consumer and corrugated markets.
The partnership between WestRock and Nalco Water spans more than 20 years, and over the last 18 months, the two companies strengthened this partnership by leveraging their Lean Six Sigma (LSS) programs to align corporate objectives to reduce operating costs through local mill implementation. The LSS structured problem-solving methodology focused on collaboration by cross-company teams to identify improvement opportunities in the pulp, paper and water areas. The result was the implementation of solutions that reduced bleaching costs, raw materials and wash water, and improved asset reliability and quality, helping to reduce WestRock’s overall operational costs.
WestRock presented Nalco Water with its Collaboration Award, which acknowledged the innovation and process and product quality achievements that resulted from the partnership. Nalco Water was one of only nine suppliers in 2016 to be honored by WestRock.
